A German Shepherd’s Hilarious Reaction To Another Famous Internet Dog

A German Shepherd’s Hilarious Reaction To Another Famous Internet Dog

Those puppy pictures that float around the Internet and clog the eternal feed of your social networks? The ones of puppies with their heads cocked sideways? There’s a reason those puppy pics go viral. They’re irresistibly adorable.

A few years ago, a video popped up of a jolted German shepherd named Noushka being played the wails of “I love you” by an internet-famous husky named Mishka. And as she listens to one of Mishka’s most viewed videos, she can’t seem to make out why or from where it’s being played. In response, she flicks her head from side-to-side, ears perked in a way that’s impossible not to watch.

Stanley Coren, a professor of psychology at the University of British Columbia, reasons that dogs tilt their heads to be able to better scan our facial expressions without their snouts obscuring their view. Dr. Meredith Stepita, alternatively, suggests that dogs tilt their heads to be able to hear us better and identify specific inflections in our tone than may lead to rewards or activities. Still others suggest that dogs exhibit behaviors that they know are favorable to humans and are therefore reciprocal. Whatever the reason, it’s adorable (and they may know it).
