Tear down Stereotypes through Art
the graffiti project linking with seniors
LATA 65 is a project that uses art to connect different generations. He puts on the same plane to Lisbon senior citizens with a relatively young form of art such as the graffiti.
Unlike street performers we usually see as we are used to this interesting "gang" grafittera Lisbon has a particularity: it is composed of older people.
"Can" means "can" in Portuguese. Through workshops, people learn the history of street art and at the same time, make your own templates and labels to incorporate, ultimately, in the murals and works they do in the city. The bright colors are in parts coming within Lisbon.
The objective is to eliminate 65 LATA many clichés that come together street art, expanding both its audience and participants. Through the introduction of the technique of graffiti to a different group, the project hopes to create solidarity between all the groups involved. At the same time adds colors and designs to the city where they are most needed.
The group says its goal is to democratize the street art by reaching out to different age groups and let each try to express themselves in a way that is usually reserved for young people.

This city workshop allows elderly people to learn under the tutelage of some of Lisbon's most renowned street artists.
The murals of this particular group have appeared around the capital of
Portugal and have been illuminating some of the most neglected areas of
the city.
